About YWD

Learn about the ladies behind YWD!

Top Digital Jobs. Top Talent.

Young Women in Digital is a networking group of over 1,300 women working in digital marketing, social media, public relations, and more

YWD was started in 2013 after Founder, Melanie Cohn, noticed a void in the networking scene. After attending various marketing events and feeling like she wasn’t getting value out of them, she realized something was missing–she wasn’t meeting her peers! Melanie set out to create peer events where women working towards the same goals in marketing could meet, form real relationships and gain skills to push them forward in their growing digital careers.

Our members are extremely passionate about YWD! Many have landed job opportunities as well as found other members in their specific niche fields to connect with on a deeper level.

The YWD Leadership Team helps make all events and content possible, and are a huge reason YWD continues to grow! If you’re interested in joining the leadership team for YWD, or volunteering at our events, please contact us below.

“The best site to find talented people”

"For me, YWD is a place where I feel very much at home. I know that even if I go to an event alone, I’ll be able to strike up a conversation with a fellow YWDer and feel supported and connected. It’s a special place with a special kind of energy, and I feel privileged"

Lena Prickett

“Our favorite online job board”

"Without the networking and learning opportunity provided by Young Women in Digital, I would never have built and fostered networking relationships. One of those relationships helped me land my newest gig in the research space where I tackle all things marketing, social, PR, and other awesomeness!"

Megan Dewaele

“We received over 500 applicants”

"Winning the YWD Side Hustle competition was a huge step for my side business, Pop & Circumstance. Meeting one on one with mentors helped me to clarify my vision, and left me energized and armed with a strategy to build my business. In January 2015 we launched a new Rentals section for P&C."
